Folégandros - our favorite island in the Cyclades.
A small walkable and very enjoyable island. Chora - dangling on the top of the cliffs - might just very well be the most beautiful of all the Cycladic Choras. Allthough the island does see its fair share of tourists in July and August, it still appears unspoiled and quiet in May and September. For a glimpse of Greek everyday life take the bus or walk the five km to the village of Ano Meria. On the way you will be passing by the short downhill drive to the very nice village of Agkali. Good beach and nice tavernas.
There are several exellent small hotels in Chora. ANEMOMILOS has rooms with incredible views and FOLEGANDROS APARTMENTS offers spacious and comfortable options. On Pounta Square where the busses pull up you will find the cosy restaurant POUNTA, where Takis and Lisbeth serve the best coffee in the Cyclades and delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don't forget to check out the unique crockery in which the drinks are served. Made by Lisbeth herself. If you want a doggie bag for your cup after finishing your java - no problem. Cups, mugs, teapots etc. are sold inside.
